This is completely untrue in practice. You find big 4 stacked with pretty much equal numbers from both schools for junior lawyers.
There really is no meaningful distinction between the two schools at this point. All that matters is your grades and class rank.

Of course the prospects are less if one gets a 2:2 or below cum laude for NUS, SMU respectively. Most will end up in 1-5 man show law firms. Is it a bad thing? No. You’re still a lawyer however small your pay package is.
Yet it doesn’t mean you cannot do community law or other areas such as being a foreign service officer, or policy work.

WP has accepted people below 2.1 for interview stage at least. The other B4 i think no chance. 2.2 best to try for all small and medium firms, especially those you've interned at before. You have to send out a fk load of applications mate, I've been there. You'll be fine.

If my NUS 2.2 is more prestigious than a delisted school why is it that I have to go to a small firm? Damn unfair. I hate overseas grads

I've heard of all 4 big 4s interviewing 2:2s. It happens from time to time.
