I am in Early mid 30s. Female.

But I don’t seem to be able to find love and a man to settle down with.
Since graduation I have been in this profession.
I met many great male colleagues unfortunately most good men are attached married.

My question is is it too late for me to find love and to settle down?

I believe I am attractive. Smart. Law degree holder. Lawyer by profession. Can craft arguments well. Well read.

And why are all the good men taken?

It seems I have no luck in love. What can I do?
Why not look outside your law firm or even the legal profession? There are other high SES professions like IBanking/Med/Dentistry/etc whose members might be similarly afflicted. Don't lose sight of the forest for the trees.

Yes too late. All the good men have been taken.

Your only option is to lower your standards and marry down. The high ses men have options and would go for younger fresher girls.

The clock is ticking.

I am very sorry about your plight especially now you are single and over 30s.

You can follow those advice to attend networking sessions but guys being guys, they sure go for younger girls.

Yes you said you are attractive: smart and can argue well. Ok. It shows you are capable.

However are these qualities what men are looking for as a spouse? someone to argue?

Yes I agree.. as female lawyers we are more than capable of paying the bills. Unlike many gurls we don't need a "high SES" man for financial support. Your high flying investment banker could get entrenched tomorrow - then what? You dump him? Do you wanna marry him or his job? I think you should look for charwcter and personality fit.

I know friends who continue to work late every day in their late 20s - do you make time to meet new people?

In the end we both reached 35. I got married to a teacher. While she remained single.
I think the older you are and once you don’t know how to cherish what you have in your younger days, you can’t correct your mistakes. Ppl move on with life. The guys she dated previously have moved on as well (married with kids).

So I think really you shouldn’t have been too picky. Not everyday a guy is willing to die for someone.

I am a guy having the same problem. I think its hard, people fail to see beyond the tag of us as a lawyer. Anyway we also have not much time after work..so its not easy to maintain relationships.

Also, dont mind me asking, would you rather remain single if you know you may divorce, considering that as a lawyer it may be hard to maintain the relationship due to long working hours...

Yeah I agree... if no time to go networking events, maybe aim for a partner within your own firm?

Post 30. Don’t bother.
Better focus on your job and screwing your associates and trainees.

That is all you have left to boast and upkeep your pride.
