Dentons is the worst. Their clients are bad and their lawyers make then worse. no commercial sense, pedantic and slow.

I think the best guess is whether you interned with either firm.

If you did, but neither of your internship supervisors have reached out to you to apply - the writing is on the wall. Take it easy and move on.

Default Thinking of quitting Law

PQE11, partner at a small sized firm. Making only $18,000 base per month, while having to deal with arrogant clients and short-lived associates (most often leave after 2-3 years).

While my friend, he’s making comfortably $30,000 per month as a GP partner. Patient numbers are crazy. He often have to have packed lunch in his clinic, just to cope with the patient volume. Patients are kind to him and they literally beg him for his service(whether it’s vaccinations, health screening for study/employment, medications or MC etc.

And he’s not even a top performer. Specialists and surgeons are making multiples of his salary, while having an easier lifestyle.

But my point is, even as a GP partner in a neighbourhood clinic, he’s making more money than me with less stress. Patients just keep flowing in, whereas here I have to aggressively cut fees to lure in clients.

Decent fantasy story. Basic plot. I give 3/10 probably MediaCorp worthy.

Even if it’s true, you stayed on for 11 PQE worth and landed at this point. Seems like a you problem tbvh.

no, EP is never guaranteed and most don't make it. you need to be a rainmaker and have EQ to deal with your clients and colleagues. if not better cut your losses and leave, unless u want to be someone else's saigang warrior rest of your career.

How come so many doctors keep writing fanfic here. Must be disgruntled public healthcare doctors jealous of lawyers. IMO, they should just bicker with their private practice doctor peers if they're disgruntled about public healthcare salaries.

Even if they are in public slogging hard, it’s only temporary. Most will leave for private after their bond (for GPs) or after their residency (for specialists).

Still better than those lawyers stuck in small/mid size firm for life. With no chance of progressing further.
