This is highly commendable and respectable considering the smaller intake of JLCs in yesteryears.

A quick check on google indicates that there are a few from NP,RP,SP and TP currently pursuing law at the local universities (excluding SUSS, that school comprises mainly polytechnic graduates who cmi to the other two/not willing to pursue a law degree in the UK..) Where do these students train at after law school? International, Big 4 or Mid-Tier firms? I thought that there would be more representation with the liberalisation of the admission regime for NUS/SMU law for polytechnic graduates.

Do polytechnic graduates, despite shattering the concrete ceiling, usually end up getting outclassed by their JC peers at the local universities? Apart from the said polytechnic JLCs, I have not seen any other polytechnic students graduating with a FCH/SCL or high MCL (>3.75) from NUS/SMU. Is this indicative that a polytechnic education poorly equips students for subsequent legal education?
It’s ironic how you talked about liberalisation when you yourself had a certain bias towards certain segments. I don’t think anyone can take your question seriously.

Pretty sure I saw that there was a guy from a poly (in nus or smu)
who was accepted for JLC in recent years (last 3-5 years) and one of my friends who went to poly and then a UK uni ended up in AGC and is now in a big four.

All anecdotal experience of course, but given that there arent a huge number poly grads, it's hard to get intel. Many poly grads who studied LLB also just put their uni on linkedin, so it's difficult to find them.

Nonetheless, I'm a firm believer that once you get into law school- everyone is equal. All that matters is how you perform for your law school grades + work experience + extracurriculars + networking ability. Where you came from doesn't matter so much in the grand scheme.

dk about poly. can cfm he is bringing in a good amt of business. but seems cut from same cloth as the super senior counsel in drew. i was in super senior counsel team some time ago and he has a penchant for yelling, stealing work from other lawyers, and has questionable fashion choices
