Thank you for all your replies.

I am not very particular about the title and rank as long as I am not suffering a pay cut for the move, I should be happy since I can finally join the financial industry.

Regardless of whether the jobs offers learning or not, I will make sure I will improve myself during my own free time and move to the local or Amercian banks etc after 2-3 years.

Well I am shortlisted for a regional role office within the singapore regional office. Was quite surprised, they are actually kept the resume I sent months ago 5-6 months ago when I was doing my post grad.

Honestly, from what you describe what they are offering as a package is not too bad comparable to the others industries. Then why are the young leaving? Progression and culture is one of the reason but just curious if there are factors in play.

What industry were you in previously? It's surprising that they can match your pay for an career changer.

I am just being shortlisted for interview. The thingy is based on what others have described.

Honestly if you are just shortlisted to interview as an officer, how high can my pay be. lolz.

Was a in the public sevice for 3-4 years in an engineering role. The pay structure seems pretty alike to me.

Honestly if it is a good place for growth. I don't mind staying there after that.

Regional role in Singapore branch? Is it front office / middle office role? Any of these departments? AIBD, ABD-MNCD, CFD, ABD-RCU, CCU ?

Yeah its not bad compared to other industries like erm manufacturing.

The young are leaving cos progression in terms of personal learning is limited. Most departments don't get to learn much, credit papers are substantard compared to other banks. So overall you wouldn't learn as much as say if you were in DBS or SCB etc.

Also increments are bad, so as a fresh grad you pay goes up very slowly even with the promotion increments. So freshies would be better of hopping around.

Different for experienced hires. They come in with a high base salary and still enjoy 3-6 months bonus which is very good !

Lets not disclose too much here when it is still at the interview stage.

Of course. Can't remember how much maybe US$50 per day or something. But the bank likes to minimize your trips so its usually night flights there and the earliest flight back when you are done.
