Most associate/analyst level people would have already reached AVP level by 28, girls might even hit VP due to starting ealer. The age alone is not the killer, if you ask me the biggest killer besides the poor academics is his 3-4 years of unemployment.

No matter what you say, having 3-4 years of freelance tutoring and travelling around the world does not add up well. Many people have difficuly explaining a 1 year unemployment gap, 3-4 years is trouble big time.

It also does not make sense to compare a 28 year old with a full time Masters degree graduate with a 28 year old who only has a distance learning part time Bachelor's degree he got while doing a mish mash of tuition assignments when not holidaying.
whats ur prob??? just because he teach tuition no proper deg means cannot be a top banker?? which policy in what bank say that??? show me the polciy doc otherwise ur just another loser who cannot get far in life jealous of others.

According to the people in this thread, the conclusion for TS is his career is doomed and he is deem useless for the rest of his life. TS can stop thinking about working, continue living off his parents, or jump down from his HDB block liao.

Really? Can you name them? Shouldn't be a problem for you to name just a few and the banks they are working at since you know 'many President and MD in top banks that come from pt private uni'.

A lot of elitist from local university here who keep trying to put down cowspots just because he only has a distance part time degree. There are many tycoons and mega millionaires with lousy degrees but so successful in life that the normal good degree grad end up becoming workers for them. In banking usually the front office senior levels are from private degree. Only the local grads end up doing back office support function in their miserable life.

To do well in banking, you need to be good looking and can present yourselves well. Working hard does not mean working long hours. It means network with the right people and "working hard" to hit into their circle by hook or by crook.

People thought that the Ivy leagues graduates are more sought after by the MNCs banks but they forgotten to take into account the fact that good foreign u grads speaks better than local grads and they are more vocal.
