Don't try to act righteous here. Make sure you also don't lie at anytime during your lifetime of work.

I left my last job in March 2019 and in my CV i did not indicate that i already left. The reason is i dont want companies to keep asking me why i left without a job. Based on my experiences, 99% of the company that is going to hire you will not call back to your "current" or previous company, especially so if you indicate that you are still working there.

In July i went to this aerospace company, got selected and they conducted a background screening, I did not know that companies in aerospace conduct such detail checks. Later did i know that it is due to the nature of the industry. After 3 weeks of checks on passport, education and employment, they discovered that i indicated i was still working in my ex company although i already left in March. And today, they asked me for reasons for this discrepancy ...
So why did you leave without a job ? Can share ? Toxic environment, bad boss, poor management of the office ?

I don't think there is any wrong in leaving without a job except that you have to face the consequences of financial woes if you are ill prepared. Sometimes the interviewer made me feel it is wrong to leave without a job but actually with or without a job, the interviewer will still find ways to grind you.

If you lose this job, don't bash yourself up. Don't blame yourself. Just learn from the setback. And keep moving forward.

Employer is always interested reasons for one to leave the company. Is it due to disciplinary issue etc? And aerospace industry has a lot of confidential information and this descrepency shows that you cannot be trusted, thus HR is worry that you might resort to wrong means for gain.

Haven’t been working for quite long and will be joining a new company soon.

Be thankful. Stay relaxed. Go through onboarding process. Make allies.

Hello.. need some advise.. when i applied for jobs, companies/recruiters called to ask what's my last drawn and expected salary before assessing whether they should proceed with the interviews. I'm actually ok to accept lower than my last drawn. How should i respond? Thanks..

Just say what your last drawn is. What's wrong with that? If they wanna offer less or more it's up to them. Unless you mean that you paiseh to say your last drawn because it was 7 years since your last job or something. Even then can say you haven't been working for awhile but that was your last drawn. Good luck!

Default Background Screening

Just to update you guys on what happened.

HR called me up to confront me on the discrepancies in my CV versus what they found out from my ex company. They are so petty that they can pick on things like

* I declare my title is pricing analyst when actual title is pricing specialist

And of course, they picked on the gap when i told them i was still working when in fact i left in March. I lied because it will look very ugly to have a 6 months gap.

I lost the job offer in the end.

It didnt upset me much due to the following reasons:

1) The workplace is too far, in changi as it is aerospace
2) The HR is very petty
3) I am holding a temp job now so the blow is not as big

But i would say this year is a super damn bad year for me.

I went interviews with 14 companies and out of that, i was selected for 2nd round with 8 companies and all lost. Sometimes it is really due to luck, because when you are in good luck you can get the job in just interview with one company.

jiayou! all the best in your job search. I think they call you back is considered not bad already, better than just ignore and leave you hanging unsure of your status.
