Reference Checks: Does SG HR really check them??

Anyone knows roughly how long do foreign banks take to finish background checks and give you the offer?

How about if I mention my notice period is 2 weeks but the contract wrote 30days? However, I know of people who left the company within 1 day of notice, hence I mention 2 weeks as a safe gauge. Will such minor thing be raised when my potential coy contacts my current coy?

not really. I think they focus more on other things.

Hr asked for reference checks and last payslip, is my offer more or less secured? Or should I go for other interviews?

This should be the last step before you start work. My current boss shared with me that he ever rescind his job offer when he discovered one candidate lied about something (not sure about what) when he did reference check.

As long as they are 'still preparing/drafting' the contract, they can check reference anytime. Nothing is more embarrassing than having your offer rescinded after you signed the contract.

They can check before or after you signed anything. No difference. It is entirely up to the management.

I actually accepted another offer from company A awhile back but have not started work as they commence quite late. Will this be flagged out and be known while company B is doing the reference check on me?
