We will give our everything in our direct work with students (and parents, to an extent). What we resent is padding the KPIs of middle and senior management with things that have nothing to do with the heart for our students.

So enough with all this nonsense about teachers being hungry for money, having no intrinsic motivation, and whatnot. Think about what our job has become.. what it has evolved into over the years.
Thanks for sharing the concerns. It is very eye-opening to understand how teaching jobs have evolved over the years from one that is centred mostly on teaching and delivering the syllabus, to one that involves anything and everything such as mental health, CCA, sex ed, admin, school events, logistics, etc. perhaps institutionalise a team of non-teaching staffs in each school whose role is to coordinate and manage these non-teaching activities (of course they may rope in teachers flto provide support and assistance and brainstorming). This will offload teachers workload substantially??

quite good life, and the pay per hr rate is pretty decent as well. don't need to entertain all the silly parents' requests, politics, lame and mindless admin things, CCAs, etc

Try part time scheme first. It’s always good to be offloaded from projects while focusing fully on teaching, and not forgoing the iron rice bowl.
