You are ranked by grade, regardless of how high or low you lie within the grade. No worries about that.

Possible to still be at ceiling for awhile if not promoted. But honestly, other than a feeling of stagnation, I'd rather be hired at salary ceiling than be offered a lower salary just for the space for it to grow. 😂

Hv been offered $4340.

From this thread, I realise that this offer is top of the scale for untrained tch.
Does this mean I might hit the top of scale of the next grade when I graduate frm pgde?
If I hv hit the top scale, during my bond, what if I am perceived as a underperformer? Will I be at risk to be asked to end my bond?

Appreciate any advice for this newbie. Thks.

I've been a teacher for a couple of years, and I must say, the money is good, especially if you're single (drawing $5.5K monthly now). I've made extra income through giving tuition on the sidelines.

I also visit "massage" services every week during school hours, and sometimes I'm in Geylang in the afternoon to escape the crowd hehe. I get horny very easily in school when I see the nubile young girls passing by (I teach in a IP school), to the extent I once hired a 19-year-old escort to service me.

This is probably one of the best jobs in the world...

Based on my understanding, after graduation from PGDE, mid-career professionals are usually immediately emplaced onto the next salary grade. For instance, if you're now at the top range of GEO2 untrained, upon graduation from NIE you will be emplaced on GEO3, and, barring any major performance issues, you can look forward to promotion to GEO4 sooner than others in your batch. Thereafter, it will be based on your performance.

Pls leave the service. It’s scary to learn that there are such people like you in the teaching fraternity.

You ridicule the teaching profession but end up ridiculing yourself and your upbringing.
You have shown that you have wasted your parents and govt resources in your education.
Pity pity....

Am 98% sure this is a troll who has no clue how difficult teaching is these days.

On the 2% off-chance that you're serious - pls do share which school you're at. Sounds like great work-life balance; should try to get there via open posting.

Hi, I too was a mid career.... and took at 60% paycut when i join MOE some time back.
You will start with $4340. After graduation from NIE you will get $4500.
Within 3 years, you will get about $6k and if your performance is reasonable.. (no need to be that good), you will get $7k within 5 years.

If you take up leadership position, it will increase from there... hope I answered your query....
