I did something wrong in year 2. To be honest, it all depends on your school. So the C-, D meant no promotion for next 3 years, it's true.
Got a D before & your performance has been average all along yet your promotion is so fast?

It is considered a batch promotion for year 2. Geo 4 was delayed compared to the rest. There are people who there who were prompted to geo 4 in their 4th year of service

6 years to Geo 4 is called delayed? Its considered quite fast already, even faster considering u have a D grade before. I have a colleague who got D before and the P kept pressuring him to resign.

I know of people 4 years to Geo 4, or even 5 years to Geo 5, but that's cuz they have mostly B or even A, don't even have a C-.

GEO4 in year 5 to 6 is pretty normal for officers who chiong for career advancement and don't step on people's toes unnecessarily. We don't consider this to be particularly fast. Fast would be something like year 4 for NSmen guys or year 5 for ladies.

Slower than that usually means the officer has chosen to prioritise other things, like family planning, or simply better work-life balance, over career advancement and of course we respect that.

Most of my colleagues who got all C, no C- and no D, took 9 years to reach Geo 4.

4 to 5 years is lightning fast, but 9 years suggests some disease in the management style/culture. Better off changing environment where people are more nurturing and supportive of their subordinates' career development.

Wow so difficult to reach GEO 4 nowadays? I got a mixture of C+ and C, took around 6 years.
