In a way,I would love to have a proper job like teaching but I came out many years ago and it's no longer possible to rejoin due to my relative old age currently so now it is just some relief teaching to support the full time teachers whenever necessary and tuition classes in afternoons. But I have learned to be grateful and thankful especially in times like this. To all teachers out here, you have my utmost support, respect and keep doing the wonderful work in our kids and the rest will take care itself. Cheers and jia you!!

With a number of countries on lock down currently, people around the world are actually starting to realise what a difficult job we have daily when they have to home school their children :P This coming week is going to be a challenge with all the new measures being put in place but hang in there, we can get through this!

Is it really fast? It took me 4 years to get to GEO 4 and another 3 years to GEO 5. My batch mates (males) who took on appointment are progressing at the same rate too.
Anyway, if one finds that he/she is stuck in subgrade (for degree holder), it might really be the management issue. A red flag and indicator to move elsewhere.

I did something wrong in year 2. To be honest, it all depends on your school. So the C-, D meant no promotion for next 3 years, it's true.

Are you a mid career?

enough to be given any higher grade than a C+?
7 years in this. It's really tiring me out.
A mistake in year 3 of service made me get a C-.
But it has been so many years. Still GEO1. Still a C grader.
😔

The reason you are not getting a B could be due to the no. of GEO1 officers in your school. With that small number, they will only be able to give likely just one A or B. So it could be the case that you have worked hard, but there are other people who have performed better. I can understand how hard it is to take on many responsibilites and yet is not being recognised. Maybe look at the wuantum, you might be the top C. Promotion will come eventually. Keep your spirits high.

Here's the range for 2020:
Grade GEO SEO
A 2.8-3.5 3.75-4.5
B 2.25-2.75 3-3.5
C+ 1.55-2.2 2.25-2.75
C 1.25-1.5 1.5-2.2
C- 0.5-1 0.5-1
D 0 0
