Sounds vain or probably'noble'? 🤣 Being in this service for for 6 years and started off with a dip grad, I guess I've come far enough. It's time and experiences which I will need to gather before moving up to the next grade.

To reiterate - it is possible to score A for sure as GEO 3. I did that before.
But it will be near impossible to get A the year of your promotion. Highest I have heard so far is a B. There is a saying that usually year of promotion you will only get a C+ highest. This is generally true for most people, but not all.
With regards to your long term PD, yes, try to extend out beyond yourself. Mentor others, work with other schools and organisations and grow

Some Ps follow the recommendation like bible, so it can be disheartening to do a lot more and when news of promotion comes in Term 2, it will be like....GG. so far max grade that I have gotten in my year of promotion is B (rare occurrence) with C+ for the other occasions.
Yes, it is not about doing things for the grades, but when effort is not justified because it is the year of promotion, it is hard for one not to feel under appreciated.
Good years, A at GEO 3, 4. GEO 5 was when I bade goodbye to anny possibilities of As rofl.

I think largely dependent on the SL. Personally, I have gotten A as a GEO 3 officer. However, with the new SL, it seems much harder. No one above GEO 2 got A this time round.

Still GEO 1
Just read my PB...got C+ as a GEO1.
Not many GEO 1 in my school. Did so many things...but not even a B? Am I that soo
undeserving to be given a B to the point that even if there is little competition, i'm still not good
enough to be given any higher grade than a C+?
7 years in this. It's really tiring me out.
A mistake in year 3 of service made me get a C-.
But it has been so many years. Still GEO1. Still a C grader.
😔

Wow find it difficult to believe that you are still a GEO1 after 7 years. Have you raised your concern to your RO before?
What I have found out through my own experience is that the amount of work you have done does not matter. It is knowing the “right” person in the school and getting them to fight for what you want. Don’t forget that during the ranking session we cannot be there so no choice but to depend on others to champion our rights.
Ideally all the KPs will chip in to mention what you have done but most of the time, unless it benefits them or you are also one of the up-and-rising star in the school, they wouldn’t be bothered to and you will just end up with an average grade and never get promoted.
If you have already voiced out and it still stays the same, my advice is transfer school or get out of the service to do something else. I am in the same boat as you and am contemplating leaving the service.

Seems like that mistake delayed your promotion and lowered your CEP. In civil service it will have multiple repercussions. I suggest you speak to your RO and ask for honesty in terms of advancement prospects. Just being objective here. If you have really given a lot ever since year 3 and you can justify them in front of your RO. I don't see why you can't get promoted If your RO doesn't agree then let him/her explain to you why. Maybe it gives you a fresh perspective of how you see yourself in the educational fraternity as well.
