It was supposed to have been reduced during the pandemic years, but from what ppl had shared here earlier, seems like that didn't happen?

does not always work within these range.. but I believe not too far from the truth.

OP here, you are welcome. If I can help any teachers here, I will.

All private schools in OZNZ follow the Teacher's Collective(A set pay scale by the Ministry, that is also why you see teachers striking to demand more pay). You can find their pay scale on Google. There is no PB or thirteen month. After tax for a 10-year experienced teacher is about 6k NZD/AUD. Singapore teachers are still the highest paid in the world.

In NZ you need dual income as the standard of living is on par, except for cars. Auckland/Melb/Sydney has the highest rentals. Housing pricing is just slightly lower compared to SG (instead of 99 years, it is freehold, instead of apartments, it is townhouse or landed).

But the work-life balance is fantastic.

perhaps it'll be fairer to compare the compensation per hr...if NZ working hrs and workload are half of SG, then the conclusion will be completely different lol

someone can be paid 10k for 16 hours of work everyday, but that wont be any different from two people getting paid 5k each for 8 hours of work everyday. the only real difference will be that the 10k guy will die earlier (or resign sooner) due to overwork

You are absolutely right. We don't and won't do overtime. It's 8 hours per day on a 5-day week. It's very expensive to pay for OT here. Strictly no contact after 4pm(everyone disappears even before 4pm) on weekdays and we don't bring laptops or work home at all during the weekends.
