In audit context, 5 or 6 years to get to manager depending on performance + cycle (bad period, they promote less). Another 3 years to get to SM. Between SM to partner, you will know if you are on that track. Some people are put into important appointment, but still failed to make it. Others were never in important appointment but got promoted anyway (get revenue).

Instead of thinking the no. of years to get to partner, try getting past associate to manager level first and see if it is something that you will like for your career. There are many high performers (rating 2 or even 1) who didn't stay beyond 3-5 years. If you are good enough to be partner, you don't need to continue in audit profession to have a decent pay.

If you are First Class Honors, Dean Lister, Valedictorian level, you will probably excel no matter where you go.

I agree with that guy leh. If you want the culture to change but not willing to do so, what you expecting? Someone else to fight your war? The next generation has to step up and make a stand for themselves if they want to make a better world for their children. One man cannot change the world but every change starts from one man.
