1) Any age, as long as you have the relevant industrial experience and academic qualification

2) Polytechnic Academic Executive

3) Maybe, but your industrial experience still counts as it is better to relate to the subject that you are teaching.

Plus, they have pedigree qualifications, speak extremely well and look well too. So you cannot just simply imagine you have a choice of teaching in a poly or working as a hotshot banker / trader. Most likely you don't have a choice but to teach. From what I see, the PAX salaries are already pretty good. If it makes you feel better, I think there are teachers who feel poly lecturers are one up compared to MOE teachers (see a comment from one poster here).
I have more respect for MOE teachers than poly lecturers
MOE teachers generally teach better and care more about their students

I think there is no comparison between MOE teacher and poly lecturer...

MOE teacher performance is directly linked to the result of the class they are in charge...of course they have to teach properly and make sure everyone get the best results

Poly lecturer KPI is different.....lets say that teaching is not a poly lecturer core KPI, because they dont need to face a national exam at the end of their tunnel.....

Poly lecturer, just like their counterpart in the uni, have other concerns that are their KPI...and these are usually not so much related to teaching....so due to the corporate culture...lecturer usually dont spend so much effort in teaching....

Same as Uni lecturers. Their KPI is driven by the number of papers/research they put up, and teaching is secondary.

But poly lecturers still have to play mentorship to some of their students, (something like form teachers/civics group tutor).

poly lecturers are actually evaluated by their students via "teaching assessment" rating forms. a very serious affair. you don't see that in primary or secondary schools.

Not all poly like that...in a certain poly, the student feedback or teaching assessment means nothing....cock-up and irresponsible lecturers do the same thing every semester and get away with it...on the other hand..we dont want to be held ransome by students rite? imagine our promotion/increament is in the hands of students....

then again, lecturers are told that teaching duties is a norm and you are expected to do well, even you do very well , you are just an average worker...in order to excel, you need to do very well in other area, such as non teaching responsibilities....you dont get penalise for not doing so well in teaching.
