200k - you might need to earn more than 12k a month in order for you to hit that with bonus... don't think lecturer pay so well leh

Nope a typical ITE lecturer with 10 years experience make ~$5k which translates to 75-80k annual. Maybe if one is really good can be ~100k, but no way anyone can hit 200k just by lecturing in ITE for a decade.

Any idea if poly lecturer can take leave during term time?

What about urgent leave, medical leave etc? Thanks.

That would be less than what a secondary or primary school teacher are earning. How do the responsibilities compare?

In general ite lecturers are paid lower than sec school teachers. The "lecturer" is just a name for show, in terms of qualifications most sec teachers are bachelor (many even got honors) grads from local or overseas reputable uni. Most ITE teachers are private uni grads (many from SIM or your typical aussie monash, curtin, rmit etc.) with a few additional technical certs here & there. If you compare sec teacher vs ite lecturer & sec snr teacher vs ite snr lecturer the former easily make 20% more on average.

ite is basically a vocational job training school. moe try to improve the image by calling it a ite college, call their instructors there lecturer & hope ppl will think of them the same as jc or uni.
but in real nothing change, so im not surprise the instructors there are pay lower than normal moe teacher.

Default ITE lecturing

(1) Is the life of an ITE lecturer tougher than that of another in Poly cos he has to handle naughty students ? Understand ITE staff also have to take on CCA
(2) Comparing full time teaching in ITE and poly, can I say there is not much diff (in terms of pay, progression, teaching and non-teaching duties, wkg hours) other than fact that ITE must handle rowdy students ?
(3) Will one be blackmarked if after being offered ITE job decide not to take up eg cos pay too low, etc ?
(4) Is it true that ITE staff turnover high cos students are difficult to handle ?

No. Most don't really bother to discipline as long as they dont come to class to cause trouble.

They are on the same pay scheme, but pay is significantly lower for ite as their teachers are 1-2 levels below poly. In terms of academics most are also lower than poly lecturers.

No

No. They mostly leave because of better career progression.
