I think it as a meaningful job which contributes back to society. a bit cliche but that is the reason for me submitting my application online
also, mind to share your last drawn pay with your working experience in poly?
thanks!

i agree that teaching profession is a meaningful job but I like to have control over what I do. I heard teaching in MOE is very stressful - KPI is linked to student performance and if one gets a bad class, then consider your life is ruined. Those who are teaching in schools under MOE, can you share your experiences?
Salary has just reached 41xx .
may I ask your current job and your experience.

i've been working in civil service for a few years, and considering a career switch as i feel that though the $$ is sufficient, there seems to be no aim or satisfaction in my work. i guess i'm just asking myself what to do with my life, haha.
anyway, thanks for sharing as well

Now, i can't go back to industry. What is best option for me? What else can i do to earn better? After being a lecturer, what else does one do?? Join ministry? which ones - please suggest some?

you are talking about UNIVERSITY is it? Poly staff are actively engaged with the industries through project collaborations. Don't know anything, dont anyhow shoot. Talk also must talk sense.

Could someone please explain the 3 numbers? Using PAX 5 as an example, it says "$ 3,750 - 5,740 / 6,740", does it mean that 3750-5740 is the range? Then what about 6740?
PAX Salary Range (effective 1 Sep 2012)
PAX 2
$10,920 - 14,910 /16,900
PAX 3
$ 7,060 - 9,670 /10,980
PAX 4A/4E
$ 5,120 - 7,690 / 8,980
PAX 5A/5E
$ 3,750 - 5,740 / 6,740
PAX 6A/6E
$ 2,410 - 4,270 / 5,200

With this recent revision: I have not been promoted and yet I get a new salary range call PAX6AS or personal-to-holder. What is the implication?

4) Variable Annual Supplement (depend on overall economy. Can be 0 - 2.x mths)
5) Growth bonus (only in exceptional year, so far only given out twice)
What are the salary components for PAX scheme like?
