3.5 mths pax 5. What would be my appraisal grade? A or B?

Sad that nowadays the letter doesn't disclose this.

For my poly, that's the norm for those near ceiling. For those that are not near ceiling when promoted, they will get more. i agree with you that $460 is definitely not a ideal figure.

Fair or not fair - we still have to accept it. Moral of the story, get promoted when you are not near ceiling.

Got A for last year too. Non-teaching works are : Involvement in progm mgmt, revamped existing module, wrote new module, set up new learning space, committee in ongoing project, outreach, partnership with industry and modules registrations. Worked my guts out. My pax 4 room mate pities sometimes. My current annual package 3 yrs after leaving the industry is just matching what I got when I was in industry. Must say I find the work much more meaningful fulfilling in the poly. Reading the comments the students left for me in their feedback and thank you cards is a reward in its own kind. I'm constantly struggling with staying or back to industry.

I am also promoted fr 6 to 5 with B grade, very disappointed with increment of less than $300, this is very low because the normal merit increment is about $250, so promotion increment only add on $50! :-(
Double disapointment with minimum increment for recent salary review because hitting ceiling at pax6

At least I now know that it's not a calculation mistake by HR. Just to share more. My MI last year was higher than current year. Both years are A grade. So In my case the significance of a promo is only so that the ceiling is raised for me but the downside is that the appraisal will be more stringent for me as pax 5. Quite likely that I will not get A for performance as a result and end up with lower PB. Bottom line is, my annual income could decline due to the promo! Did I miss out anything or is this pure silliness?
