fresh grad.. asking for 4k to 5k and can't do ****. entitled generation. don't overtime. dont work weekend. just wanna high pay do nothing.

so, we rather hire
1. foreigner.
2. experienced worker - some not even getting 4k after working 3 to 5 years.
3. not interested in dreamy fresh grad.

good luck to all the fresh grad out there... those who joined my company we made sure they are given 2 times the work since they are asking for 2 times the pay.

Sounds your company dont really practice campus hiring, which targets local unis. Theres are reason why MNC companies have grad programmes which pay >4k. Simply because GPA correlates a lot with hard work and IQ.

A local uni grad with >4.0 CAP will simply be smarter and more hardworking than those with no degree or tier 3 unis. We are investing in them for the future, for them to give us ideas. Why would we wanna pay someone who just listen to instructions and no ability to adapt and use new knowledge. The question is not how much they can do now, but of the potential of the individual.

My company does a lot using IQ test and case study as preliminary screening, you notice only the tier 1 and tier 2 unis get past this, the lousier uni students typically dont stand a chance. No degree is obviously out of the question.

Well my company does mobile / Web design with real client... Like McDonald's pizza hut. MOE etc. None. None of the local uni candidate we interview or tested have any skills for our company.
Yes they have a lot of theory computer science knowledge... Probably better for them to join mnc to be one of the many dunno do what just attend meeting workforce.

We have real contracts. Real demand. Real skills are required. Hence we value those polytechnic or private uni who have the skills. Css. Html. Video editing skills etc. More than a nus comp science or NTU comp graduate.

Like I said. Fresh grad. Has no skills.

It's true. That's why alot of frsh grad got impostor syndrome when they first join workforce.

Everything say like they know. They feel pressured to know everything, cause they get paid an undeserving amount mah.

So end up pissed off alot of seniors at work.

And end up self voluntary overtime to make up for the fact they are slow and lack the experience to do the job.

they are FRESH grads for a reason and thus, it can be justified - to a certain extent - that they lack the experience. after all, experience comes with time.

you probably experienced this if you were a fresh grad yourself, unless you ain't one?

Please understand the terms you use such as "imposter syndrome" before you use them incorrectly and make yourself seem like a damn fool.

Well when I was a fresh grad the pay is 2k range. So boss don't expect fresh grad to deliver. We learn and get more experience and hence they pay rise matches the experience...

Now. Fresh grad no experience want 4k pay. Boss ofc have to expect a senior level work quality which fresh grad lacks. Can't expect seniors who not even 4k to do fresh grad work who is betting 4k++.

That is why we have this dilemma now due to fresh grad entitlement
So solution is.... Give everything to fresh grad. Overload them until they quit or until they rralized they don't got it.

Bad appraisal. Bad performance review.

Likewise if a senior colleague join at 4k pay. We expect that senior to deliver. So we expect fresh grad to deliver. Twice as much...
