High Finance Thread

Sorry to hijack but would you guys recommend joining tech or finance for a fresh grad next year? My skillset is kinda in between. People say finance side might start lower than tech but the progression is better. Any thoughts?

1. How possible is it for a computing undergrad to move into finance like portfolio/asset management? Or are there any roles within front office that does analytics?

2. I understand that a CFA would be the best bet for a non-finance grad to enter, so my question is how long of a preparation is needed for someone without finance background to pass CFA Level 1? Also is this worth it? Or will companies actually pay employees to take the paper. (The last time I ever touched finance was in poly)

Around 5k for credit risk analyst at US IB/CIB. Much higher for an analyst at credit research/strategy desk.

Pretty good considering everyone else either had a pay cut or no bonus at all

Not sure you're right about everyone else. MS had stellar year, reflected in bonus.
