Dont even bother for local banks lah, why dont try for bulge bracket banks? Barclays was hiring earlier on for their grad program, Morgan Stanley too, etc these companies have slightly higher pay or even if its similar pay, the brand name itself wins over already.

Not really, it's quite normal for those starting off at 4.6. 5.5k implies ~10% increment p.a., which is less than what the lowest performer gets.

TBH I'm not sure. But if I'm not wrong, the difference is not that much, since much of this is centrally controlled by HR.

Should be correct. The first 2 years, MAs are under HR headcount, so salaries should not vary that much. I think the person who asked the question about variation of salary across divisions is more concerned about the salary after the 2-year MAP. After 2 years, the pay is less transparent I feel.
