Well ops roles in most top-tier banks SG) are now changing. More of project management/analytics. Most mind numbing tasks are outsourced to India.

Data analytical / tech related roles in my bank (top private Swiss bank) employ Indian programmers in SG. Most of the OPS roles are still the mundane type (KYC, reconciliation, settlements) being performed by locals. There are business analyst roles popping up here and that are project related but those are relatively few.

I dont think business analyst role will be relevant in the future. If you take a look at US banks like Goldman or JP or big fintech companies, they seldom hire business analysts or product owner following what big tech companies did. Business analyst is coming from old school Enterprise IT which might not be relevant in the future.

Don’t enjoy law and wants to get out before the paycheque gets too big to quit. It would suck to be mediocre at something you’re not really inclined in as well.

Hate to break it to you but most ops grad progs in BBs are BA roles if you read in JD now.

BAs are still important. The numbers from your analytics wont have value unless you have the domain knowledge to help check your assumptions and what not. Unless you are talking about BA + DA roles where they pay you 1.5x more for double work

Not saying a pol sci or econ major can’t make it into IBD str from undergrad, but you need to be the top 1% and differentiate yourself like just like everyone else.

You seem to have a severe deficit in terms of basic comprehension. When did i talk about Bulge Brackets? When did i say you can get into IB with zero financial knowledge? Given your utter lack of comprehension skills I highly doubt you got into a local uni, let alone an IB role. So stop spewing your bile here, thanks.

Chap has the time to lurk forums at 11am. Yeah you’re in IB alright - a no-name boutique set up by yourself perhaps?
