Not really. I've seen some analysts not get promoted to associates and even then take more than 3 years to be promoted due to lack of headcount. Try taking a look at:

Range given is 5-10k but I guarantee the comps are more like 5k. Based on what I've seen from your responses on this thread, I think you really need to lower your expectations of MO/BO. It's not as straight forward to assume linear increments/ promotions there. And banks are smart to offer you a decent starting salary but you realise the increments are **** 3-4 years down the road and you're pigeon holed cause most BO/MO jobs are pretty specialised.

In local bank BO/MO, only the lucky 1-2 gets promoted to VP because you tend to have 1-2 VPs to a junior base of between 5-10 analysts/ associates. If none of the VPs leave, you will be stuck at the associate level and many leave. I've seen that too often a time with my colleagues in the BO/MO. And these VPs will be stuck at VP level for a really really long time.

So base of local bank FO VP starts at >20k? Cool story bro.

As you have said it, range roughly around 5-10k before hitting VP. Not in banking but have some friends who’ve been through MO/BO grad programmes. Typically towards the end of their programmes they are already commanding upwards of 5k before the next (some would argue auto) promotion to associate and beyond.

Chill lah dude, the guy above isn't wrong. I'm in a ops grad programme of a BB and ya 5k on the dot for 2 years of exp but my pay hardly moved after I graduated from it. You don't know how it feels like for your base to go up by 100-200 per year at assoc level, not knowing if you'll ever be promoted to vp.
