How can it be?if jpm increment only 3% with 1 month bonus then the rest of the banks 0?

Bro, almost all banks do the same to ops. It doesn't matter if you are in jpm, gs or dbs, ops increment stretches from 0-6% with average at 3%. And ops bonus from 0 to 2 months, with good performance at 2 months. U need to know, ops isn't paid well anywhere. Jpm is a good name, but that doesn't mean they are stupid enough to pay cost centres highly. U need to go out and work and meet more ppl so you'll know what I'm saying is true.

I'm not gonna tell you its impossible. But you'll need alot of luck. I moved from ops to front office sales and trading. My analyst pay is at an ops vp level.. Besides being fkn good at selling yourself, you need a lot of luck.

Then how does one increase their salary? If only 3% per year with no promotion, who will stay long? Start at 3.5k 3% per year how much only after 5 years... that’s unbelievable

Can't reveal. It's a fkn rare move, but my friend in hedge fund ops also became a trader after 2.5 years. Alot of hard work, alot of being fkn good at your job supporting the desk and alot of luck.

Bro, if you have no promotion in ops, you deserve getting 3% your whole life. That's all I can say. If you think avp and vp make alot in ops you better think again. I've known a couple dudes who are avps making 5k with 2 months bonus, not everyone makes that low a basic, but I know quite a few. There are also vps who average 8k, Better ones 10k. These are purely ops scale. And some most ppl get stuck at avp for fkn long.

Depends if you hold a quantitative degree, most of the traders on my desk are from triple E first class from Nus, the rest ivy league. If you are neither, your chances of going to FO is as good as you striking lottery.
