I heard one of my colleague was offered an opportunity to convert from outsourced temp to a direct contract position. However, hr told him that his pay is too high to match. Makes me feel its better off to stay as a outsourced contract staff with a higher pay without having to do all the extra "cca"

Your colleague should ask HR why for those 60 they mass hired from indeed layoffs with no connection to govtech, they were willing to match their relatively very high pay and grade for their YOE, even without interviews for some of them.

Wow GovTech can match the high salary from Indeed? Which department did they all go to?

Does anyone know how long is the hiring process for GovTech?
Completed the interviews and received a verbal offer from GovTech recruiter.
How long for contract and everything (e.g. background check) to come?

About 2 months. But really depends on who you liaise with and your role.

They also got mostly nothing to do. Just take in the bunch of them but it was clearly not planned. They have the best salary/effort job in the entire country.
