To give them some credit, there are some improvements I do like - the rest & relax weeks and the renovated level 8.

When I am at level 8 sometimes I see people who look like tech staff hanging out there (can hear their convo). If they have a nice place to chill at work, presumably they can be more productive?

Not surprising. Because one side always build up, another side tear down. Or one side want to build, but other side keep blocking until cannot succeed. The only thing that transform is happy faces to angry faces.

In the context of tech transformation, who is the “other side”?

The TG side kept blocking the changes requested by business users. You should see the amount of manual work and how inefficient these can get when everything can easily be automated.

But nothing is done by the TG grp.

I am familiar with the frustration from inefficient manual processes and migration to different or overlapping systems every now and then. But would TG block if it’s part of their KPI?

Now you are VP? any team lead position?

Not impossible to match, but imo more likely to start at DD1 than DD2. They start you at DD2 you have no room to allow for promotion. Most DDs stay as DDs unless boss think you are exceptional, so patience and ability to accept what cannot be changed are important traits. Joining as a relatively young “senior officer” grade, how your experience will fit into MAS style is still untested, no very strong reason to start new recruit on higher DD grade unless you have some proven management experience. Or the department you interviewing for is in need of team lead. Do note banking team lead is not walk in the park

Please also note these are informal views as here is not HR, your interview panel may well give you a different view.

No idea, but their usual excuses - not enough manpower, resource constraints.

Which depts are not facing manpower and resource constraints? It is the same everywhere. Not to mention, they have the most number of headcounts.
