Everyone and their dog and cat knows that TG only help the business if the outcome helps their own KPIs and promotion. What are example of requests that donít showcase anything that might be turn down?

Poor TG, from an innocent enquiry from new prospect, now the arrow turn to their direction. Actually donít u think the above comments can also apply to projects and requests involving stakeholder from other BU, say corp side for the sake of example

Such events can exist anywhere, even within same division.

it is obvious.. especially now that other biz depts are forming their own internal IT teams within their depts to handle their own biz reqs.. the qth - mgmt dont see an issue with it.

Donít mind, maybe you should also share your dept and title, so that the local banker can be satisfied you got enough oversight of new recruits to be able to provide a more accurate suggestion.

A division head of mine who is very clever though never worked a day outside service before, one of the first things they told me after I joined MAS, is that titles in finance are ďinflatedĒ. Regardless whether their view is true, how is it possible to assess a recruit value to the org from their corporate title alone. The 35yo banker may be very experienced outside but is their specialisation in demand in the depts they want to apply?

Like that, you may as well ask them to share which yoe were spent doing what responsibilities in what type of FI. This way, not only you can evaluate better, if they decide to apply they can be recognised and looked out for at interview. Then if interviewer say leave to HR to advise on package and they are not offered what you suggested, they know which anonymous AD/DD/D from PDD gave them this suggestion.

Downside of giving too much info is, industry so small, only those few local banks, if he or she donít get the package they want, their current colleagues will all know they thinking of jump ship.

From my anecdotal observation, what I can share is seldom see new recruit join direct as team leader (higher DD grade). Especially for BD, when TL resign or transfer, I thought usually there is no shortage of replacement from talent pool of existing high potential MAS officers who identified with leadership abilities but vacancy not yet available. Of course some of this talent pool may include mid career joiners who have worked a while in MAS and gain bosses confidence. The point is it doesnít seem common for mid career recruit who never worked in MAS before to join at TL or higher level, especially for core function like banking where TL plays critical role during crunch time so cannot afford to get it wrong. The way of thinking, pace, work environment they are used to is different so first need to show they are able to adapt well before appointing at grade where they have responsibilities to manage others. Then again, I donít pay careful attention to people movements in BD depts so good to know if there is exceptions to above sharing.

Your 12.5k/mth is base or annual package? What's your specialisation and yoe?
