"money by cutting out division heads." ->eh taboo leh, later kena condemn hehe. But agreeing w your point, sometimes I wonder, do the leaders work here for the benefit of the nation (i.e. enhance fin regulation)? Or is it really for their own promotion? Just look at the billion dollar case.......

I also say, better don’t talk sensitive topics here if bosses see they may get very worked up hahaha

Do they work for their own promotion? It really depends on who you get. Some are truly wonderful people who are humble and don’t brag or enjoy listening to the sound of their own voice. As for those who always talk about serving the nation, zzz… doesn’t everyone love and serve Singapore in our own way

They work hoping to get their big paycheck every month...peaceful life...no trouble or additional work and then can retire without trouble. Everything delegate to others to do it. So they don't need to do anything and get paid well or find ways to shine and get paid well with little effort.

Mid-career prospects, think carefully before joining.
Be careful. MAS HR is monitoring this forum. Dont give too much details here, else HR can easily identify you. and the consequences coming.....

I thought should be comms to monitor and not hr? Hr is only to get info to identify if necessary. Then maybe ld analyse if the messages are overboard. Hahahaha.

Though of the previous posters do sound like they are from hr.

Not the person who replied. But I agree the op gave enough info to identify or narrow down if they really want. But in this case the person should not be witchhunted, he was just upset about not getting redesignated after all the hard work.

This is my personal opinion. MAS is still quite conservative culture. Bosses generally are not really used to staff complaining. Unless it’s about the usual things like uncompetitive pay and bonuses, inadequate wlb in certain functions and so on. If staff want to complain on topics that may appear unfavorable comments on bosses, they should not do it in a way that can identify themselves. Bosses will be curious to find out more just like they ask many questions on presentations.

The culture is not going change over a few complaints. They will always be able to find reasons why staff is wrong. In the end, staff will become sian and learn to keep quiet to maintain ricebowl, those who had enough will go away on their own. Hr will then advertise to replace them. Moral of story don’t complain unless you are prepared for the consequences.
