Default ITE Aerospace/Avionics Lecturer Jobs

Hi Peeps

I have notice that ITE have PREFER to recruit people with Airforce experience and you need degree too so that you can be called up for interview. Those with airforce experience, ITE pay them good salary between $3.8K to $7.5K. This is the news i received from my insider sources.

But i got some colleagues who degree and got aircraft maintenance licence but no Airforce Experience was either offer below $3.8K or $4K FLAT.

At least 90 percent of the ITE Aerospace/Avionics Lecturer Jobs were given to ex-airforce personnel plus better salary over CAAS aircraft maintenance licence holder. Really sad case, it seems to me that the Section Head who also from Airforce rather choose his ex-comrades than the real deal who sign aircrafts.

When you compare experiences, both are almost similar in years of experience but comes to commercial aircraft the CAAS aircraft maintenance licence holder are the people with most knowledge who do the job.

Airforce people repair military planes (No Future) that is the main reason they left. Oh they don't need licence to sign aircraft and no need to take CAAS Exam to pass.

Hey bro

My bro in law work in siaec as LAE and went to apply for a teaching job with ITE in aerospace. During the interview, he was asked how much he expecting the salary and he reply SGD$4.5K....the interviewer say "NO"....ITE can only offer him SGD$2.5K....ITE is not offering a perm job....every job u applied is contract job.

My Bro-in-law ask why so little, the interviewer reply and say to him that he got no airforce experience and his degree carry a little weight to his resume. ITE need people to have passion to teach students. Plus the work load is not as heavy as his present job.

This is just a 2-cent of my advise. If u pay peanuts then u will have monkey working for u. Cheers to the AIRFORCE and ITE great way of innovation and passion of recruiting local talents.

Poly also offer contract job....no more perm jobs liao...also 42 days annual leave cut down to 21 days annual leave but pay adjusted for 5% to 7%. According to my friends who is a lecturer from ITE, their contract will be renew every 2 to 3 years based on performance. Easy life in ITE than poly, his job is to teach, advice those students.

before you hum-tum ITE like dat, ask your bro in law his current salary how much. I suspect his current salary is 2.2K pm. Civil service will offer higher than current salary for experience. But don't expect them to double the salary.

please provide info on your bro-in-law:
-What class of degree, from what university
-How much is his basic salary in SIAEC?
-How many years of exp?

I am sure that the $4500 = basic + allowance + OT/shift allowance

1. He got second class lower from SIM
2. His basic is 4K
3. 10 years

Just to hightlight the different between EX-Airforce and Commercial LAE
1. Those Ex Airforce guys, their background are ex-technician or specialist from their own squardon. THEY ARE NOT THE REAL DEAL because they specialise in military planes.
2. They don't need to sign CRS (Certificate Release of Service) when they completed the job.
3. They didn't attend formal training from SAR 147 training organisation. They went to airforce school to learn the "DIY" trade themselves. In other words, they are mechanics and not professional!!!!
4. Those ITE aerospace lecturers inside the aerospace section are ex-airforce personnel which are Lazy and insufficent knowledge people. That are the reasons, their parents company release them from their service so no choice they ended in ITE to teach the students!!!
5. Those ex-airforce people cannot find any career paths to venture. Only LAE are the only people in the aviation are the most sought after.
6. Trust me, many of them apply with SIAEC but cannot get the apprenticeship because they fail their IQ test.
7. Beside SIAEC, many aviation pay good money to LAE because they hold CAAS licence.
8. My bro in law want to teach because he want to guide the students in the correct direction how to achieve their DREAMS to become LAE. Of course ITE has to pay GOOD Money to bring in our local talents from their specialise industry.
9. I don't believe that ex-airforce gettting higher salary than LAE.

PAY PEANUTS and U will see monkey running around in the campus.

Cheer to my another 5 cents of advise. I am not against Ex-Airforce people. I commenting on the unfair recruitment drive strategy which wasting our money and rob our students' future due to monkeys teaching.

i agree that ITE students are easier to teach because the modules are basic compare to ploy and university standard. ITE are train to deliver the basic knowledges to their students so that when they enroll into poly. They will be able to pick up the pace faster with their peers.

On the other hand, i think ITE (Aerospace and Avionics) should show their students what is MRO industry are really like. Some of them attach to my side, they are surprise that the working environment is really tough in the MRO section.

Their ITE lecturers REALLY FAILED in their role because they are from airforce background and used their own experience and imagination to tell their students somethings that is not true. TRULY DISAPPOINTED with those bogus lecturers.

HEY ITE HQ PLEASE wake up and choose suitable lecturers to teach lar.....no more air force people...what happen to your recruitment drive??? Drive to causeway and lost your way? It is not late because u can U TURN.....

There are plenty of LAE wanted to teach but most of them are not called up for interview.....only airforce dude are called up.

SAD CASE....look like the B737 in ang mo kio campus will fall into the wrong hands again. Please get LAE to teach lar....no more hamster running around
