Hi,
Does anybody know how many years does one take to rise from MX12 to MX11? Say, for 2nd upper honours, or 1st class honours?

that's considered fast? I know of some of my peers who are in the MX11 bracket (i.e. earning more than 4.1K but they are still MX12). Could it because of Ministry policy to push back the promotion to MX11?

Add another 2 years for ns, ie 4 years. For ladies I wonder if it could be faster since there is no +2. This rate of progression is not that uncommon, although majority would get their 11 in 5 years. It all depends on cep I suppose.

i know it's not hard to reach the MX11 payscale (4.1K) in the timeframe you mentioned, but I know of a number of people who reached that figure but still stay on MX12. Is it possible that the Ministry is waiting for them to hit the ceiling of MX12 before promoting them?

It's not really about hitting the 4.1k payscale. I can't remember but I believe mx12 stretches to 5+k. Doesn't mean that one will get his mx11 just because his pay has reached 4.1k. It's more due to the cep and time norm. I know of pp with CEP of mx11. They would only get their mx11 in their late 30s to early 40s I think if there is no change to their cep. On average CEPs are usually ard 10-9.

ok the above example hit 3.8K at the start of the 3rd year at MX12 and 4.2K at the start of 4th year.
myself i'm 4.4K after 3+ years at MX12, my senior is at ard 4.7K after 4+ years. This does not include our NS. Does this mean we have to wait until the 5.3K ceiling for MX12 to be promoted to MX11?

what do you mean by <<This does not include our NS.>>??
I thought all male who have done NS, and join the civil service at ministry, will be added around 300-400 for the starting salary due to NS. ??
