A quick question.

In the civil service hierarchy, what is the seniority of an Assistant Director.

Sounds impressive, but from my knowledge of corporate culture in general, there always seems to be an inflation of titles of some sort. Never worked in civil service and was just wondering if this is true in civil service also.

If so, what are the titles below and above Assistant Director?

Some govt agencies inflate the title because their officers deal with international people and 'Manager or Executive' just wouldn't cut it. I think MTI entry-level is Assistant Director, and MAS entry-level is Associate.

Default IRAS Grade Scale

IRAS - IS Grade 7. Heard other Civil service having MX__ for grading, what’s the difference?

Im the poster who asked this question.

Is this across the board or specific to very few, specific govt agencies?

What about non-specialised ministries?

Not across the board. In the case of MTI, AD position is an entry level graduate post, MX13.
However, in some Ministries such as MOE, AD is a MX10 level.

I enrolled into WSQ diploma in 2014 and graduated in 2015 before I enlisted for ns.

Rn i'm doing PT study in a local poly, I had been applying for jobs at careers.gov since last year (2020) but none ever get back.

Any advice here?
I'm afraid your chances of entering the civil service are almost zero unless you make it into a local uni and do well (at least a second-upper). Why do you want to enter CS though?

I dont think his chances are zero? He already made it to a local poly right (what he said). However, if offered would be under MSO instead of MX scheme?

Local uni with good hons just better chance of climbing based on general CEP guidelines

I know someone who went to Go8 and became SAD before 35 also, although maybe exception rather than the norm
