Is MAS a tier 1 agency? Pay seems to be higher than the rest of civil service!

Nope in fact its one of the lower tiered ones. The higher pay is yes, SEEMINGLY so and due to the extra hours officers are often worked.

Looking to join economist service as an experienced hire, have been in private sector for 3 doing bank ops, fch in econs. What are my chances.

nope, its "hard to get in" due to security clearance. Not anything else.

Default CPF Contributions

Hi all, would like to ask how long does it take for CPF contributions to be reflected? Have signed the contract (with one of the ministries) in January and received my first pay on Feb 12. However, to date, no contribution is reflected on the CPF website. Is it true that the first contribution will often be delayed / reflected at a later date?

most ministries do it last week of the month.
