May I know what's the career progression like in MOH? Entering as a fresh grad, how many years does it take to go from AM > M > SM > AD.. etc.?

TIA!

Anyone knows if within a ministry, there are different salary ranges for different positions? E.g. Do policy roles get paid more than ops (like finance, procurement)?

In general, the salary range is the same for all positions (less specialised roles e.g. lawyers in Legal Dept).

The difference lies with progression. My experience is that there are more higher ranked positions in policy depts as we need to clear papers up to DDs/PSes.

What are the influencing factors?
Any chances of review as career progresses?
TIA!
Your CEP is usually determined by your boss after you complete Year 1, during performance appraisal. It would be endorsed by your management, hence little changes thereafter, unless you have some outstanding achievements.

Influencing factors? Hmmm whether your boss see you up or not and if he/she likes you. Lol.

Therefore it is possible that someone is able to hit 9K in 9 years. I'm guessing that the VMI for top performers is way higher than for above average performers.
Well, I wouldn't say that's entirely impossible.

I had a first class honours and started my career with $4k/mnth. Consistent B performer. Am completing my 3rd year soon, drawing about $5.75K/mnth now (includes 1 promotion + 2 CS adjustment).

After the MI in Mar 18, would probably be drawing smth along $6.1K. Essentially I need to have an increment of about $2.4k over the next 4-5 years. Possible if I have another promotion and maybe a CS adjustment.

I believe the topic is regarding a post mentioning that his starting pay is 2.5k 10 years ago and now earning 9k. That is average 14% each year if include 10 years of increment. Your average annual increment is close to 11%.

ur starting salary and the starting salary in 2008 is very different.

in todays term (based on the same percentage growth), do u think u can hit 12k or more in the next 4-5 years?

It seems like civil service progression is much better than private sector based on the posts here. 4k to 5.75k with one promotion looks huge within 3 years.

is still being in MX11 after working for 14 years considered very slow progress?
