Hi everyone. I understand that new hires in a Ministry will be issued with a PS Card for identification purposes.

Can I give HR my ready made passport sized photograph to be used for the PS Card? Or HR will arrange for a session for me to come down in person to be photo shot by a photographer?

Thank you.

For a transfer of service, the performance appraisal won't be shared with the new ministry he is going to? Does it mean he starts afresh at the new ministry and his past performance etc won't be known to the new ministry? Because if all these info is shared, like past performance not good, wouldn't the new ministry think twice about taking him/her?

Everything will be shared. The HR of the new ministry that you’re going to will liaise with the HR of your current ministry. They will know what is your PB for sure.

MFA is in a league of its own, they really do hire the cream of the crop and that’s why theyre paid so well (but of course the hours and demands are hell).

No idea what’s so funny. They’re the only place in the public service where you can cross 5 digits monthly before 30.

Is it true most graduates cap out at MX10? What's the annual package at that point?

Genuinely curious why so many people want to work in civil service when the compensation is so low especially after a few years of experience?

E.g. 5-8 years experience not even clearing 8k basic monthly salary
