Hi, that's a great pay. Able to share what was your starting pay and class of honours?

Are you scholar as well?

Thanks!

Thanks for sharing. Looks like we can safely say the 2nd upper and 1st class guys are getting much higher than that then. Good insight and benchmark.

After reading so many posts and those younger than me earning higher as civil/public servants I feel sad. At the same time, I'm sure there will be many who will be earning same as me. Some posts do look suspicious, if only people would not brag too much and really say their actual salaries.

I've spoken to some of my colleagues and most earn between 4k to 5k and around my age. But in this forum, most seem to have higher salaries. It is getting difficult to benchmark and I'm not able to figure whether my salary is too low or the norm.

can someone who is teaching in polytechnic, someone who is around 34 years old, inform the salary they get?

Just as you hear only about startup success stories (see today's Sunday Life) and not the failures, people who earn more tend to be more vocal and visible while those who earn less will not post as much because they feel inferior. This is a form of survivorship bias.

With NS increment. I can only say i was only promoted in 2012 and received a pay hike in the same year, which was a total increment of approximately $600. I'm rated slightly above average for my performance grading.
