It is good to know that more and more families like your family are able to upgrade to condos, thanks to the cheap BTO flats that they can flip. Many families bought their cheap BTO flats and easily paid them off after a few years and by the time they are in their early 40s they have a fully owned flat which they can sell at a very good price. In your case you sold at a good price which enable you to pay for your condo in full (plus your savings).
So it is not so difficult to own a condo in Singapore. You just need to be frugal and don't spend your hard earned money in gambling, smoking, drinking, overspending and womanizing. There are many people who earn more than you but their lives are not progressing as they spend their income and wealth on these sinful and bad activities.

Many households are changing to new cars after receiving their recent bonuses. Also, they are expecting COE prices to rise further and that is why they are buying now. At $65k, it is still considered cheap from a historical view. If you look at inflation rate over the past ten years plus the rising household income, COE at $65k is still cheap. Many families can even afford to buy two or more new cars. Just look at the forummers here, many have household incomes of $300k pa and above. So buying new cars is like buying new clothes, they change cars every 2-3 years to buy the latest car models.
Over the long term, the norm for Cat A COE will be between $65k - $75k if there is some clawbacks. If there is no clawback, prices can return to the historical highs of $100k and can break to new highs in the year 2019 and beyond.

Congratulations! Why did you change your mind? At first you believed the idiot who is dreaming of $30k COE. What makes you decided to buy now?
Anyway, what happened to the idiot? Very quiet. He said COE prices will drop further but instead they shot up. LOL.
