What is old?
We have PhDs starting duke at 33 to 34.
38 year old graduate and starting residency at 40.

U need to find inner peace with urself tbh
Ur inherent personality, the insecurity that had self fueled itself is something only u can handle
Social media is evil. Avoid at all cost.

The m.med is nothing.
Pass stay ops get 200k a year
Fail go private also get 200k a year minimum

End of the day, be happy and that starts with being content.
Saw Ur dad or mum after a long day? Take delight..because one day they will not be around
Had a snuggle with Ur boyfriend? Take delight ..becuase he might cheat on you tomorrow

Had a cheese cake
Take delight...becuase next week uight be dx with diabetes and that is your last ever piece
im taking Mmed next week also. and I find this helpful.
pass or fail. life goes on. life can be good even without the approval of some random examiner who will never think of u again.

I find it is very difficult to let go and just treat mmed like it's non essential. Maybe it's because of all the effort that I put in for past 3.5 years of residency.
Ironically, I have already a job offer with a private GP group, and already have gdfm, so mmed isn't that impt for career progression for me.
It's the feeling that if you fail, all your efforts through residency is wasted, and you have just wasted 3.5 years of your life. And I will most likely retake next year, which means all my leave and life plans next year will need to be rearranged..

Pass or fail doesnt make that big a difference really
You just want to succeed.
In the end real life is less about these exams
It is an extension of high pressure schooling you grew up with

U can retake as a private candidate mah
Go GP land life v good u might not want to retake liao.

My time m.med is hurdle.
Slides dun pass, no need go viva
Vivia dun pass, no need go clinical liao.
Every week go board and see whether u can go next round.
Machan some reality show competition.

Nowadays residency so well supported
So much pastoral care
What u want , pd try to accomodate.
Got proper syllabus
Resident clinic
Got preceptor teach

Our time where got? Throw u into ops and see
120 patient a day
I only meet my supervisor first and last day of posting

In other words, dun be so strawberry la.

Aiyah.
The best treatment is to pass the exam.

Sounds like you have trauma. Dont find CBT having good results.
I would recommend somatic based therapy.
Also parts work. IFS.
