Find it funny pple think FM residency is easy.
Really easy residency is ent , urology. Ward round is short
Clinic easy..very narrow focus of problems.
Surgery also not complex ( ok maybe neck surgery tough )

Just difficult to enter nia.
U jaded do FM sure cannot tank till the end.
But residency u get mmed tho ..

Thankful

So 2.5m net worth by 40?

Your 1.5m asset what's the yield?

Why 1m cash? Wont you do better investing majority of 2.5m?

Looks like your figute is double what young people globally need to FIRE at age 30.

5k is rental

It's not a yield.

What's the value of the condo?

What's your mortgage?

Paid in full?

Then yield is 5kx12/Book value of condo (purchase price)

Or if got mortgage then yield is 5kx12/downpayment (more or less)

also property tax and home insurance. Which isnt much in SG.

You single child with parents owning landed.

Aiyah earlier don't say. LOL!

If MMED is the way to go as career path for FM, then why is there quota to do fellowship?

Wasnt it encouraged to do fellowship, now theres hurdles to even attempt to do it?

It is just self glorification. Ownself glorify ownself.
Making money is not the same as being a good conscientious dr.
No one wants to say it.
Even those making salary in public sector....
You get promoted cos you simply treat patients very well?
Wait long long....

So being good doctor to patients not good enough.
Go out GP land then some people think you’re money minded
Want to prove yourself and stay to do fellowship also can get rejected to even attempt.
Then whats the right way?

New launch nowadays is 2200psf
And we are jsut talking abt ocr condo
A typical 900 sqft compact 3 bedder is >2million in ocr
25% downpayment plus stamp duty is close 600k cash/cpf oa

My advice to post 2015 mbbs grads are
Study super hard and get ur fcpfs or minimally mmed in ops
Work super hard now if you are locum
Be super enterprising if u are starting ur own chain

Do you 100hours per week if you are gunning for residency

There is not shortcut to life.
If you dont put in 100 hours, somebody gonna put in.
And they are going to eat your lunch.
