It basically refers to patients who are "walk-in". Polyclinics work on an appointment basis now, ostensibly to reduce doctor workload by limiting the number of patients they see per day into around 40 10-min slots, plus to reduce overcrowding and long patient wait times.

Of course that's inadequate capacity so there is a provision for "walk-in" patients, aka, no more slots left already. These are the 5000/9000.

So far only the east cluster sees them. Central and west cluster much better at protecting their staff.

not true. central also have many many many walk in slots.
Heard only west dont have can corroborate.

Really ah? How bad is it in Central? Sometimes East can see up to 10+. Most days maybe 6?

on bad days, one cluster can hit 20-30+.

One FTE is 45 scheduled appt. Plus 30 walk-in means you see 70 a day?
- only happens for urti in my cluster.

Thats like 9/HR in locum context

I think they use shared queue so probably need to divide between a few docs.
