Is NUS Med even worth it
With such low odds of getting into residency, what’s the point of even studying medicine in NUS.
Any other graduate from a decently competitive course (CS, Law etc), earns more than a GP

Might as well go be president, put photos in the hall only and very well paid.

Locum on average is $100 per hr
If you work 10hours * 30 days will be 30,000
But the above is not sustainable
For sustainable practice is usually
8 hours * 20 days = 16,000

No career progression as a locum.
Anchor GP in a clinic can make partner after some time

I was quoted locum rates vary from $80-150/hr. And the average is $120/hr.
In order to hit $30k a month at $120/hr need to work 250hrs a month
62.5h a week
about 10.5h a day 6 days a week.
Possible I guess but looks damn shiong man
$360000 p.a tax payable is $53,350
Net tax = $306,650
I know a GP overseas works 32h a week (128h a month) makes about $430k p.a
Tax is much higher at $108,600
Net tax = $321,400
Pretax works out to $280/hr
