It’s not really a Chinatown law firm, neither is it a mid sized. Not likely to get a sniff of any good corporate work there - there is no name brand, and the partners are not high-profile. Your mileage may vary.

To be fair, due to the shortage of lawyers and increasing demand for corp lawyers now, especially at NQ-1PQE level, if you go to basically any corp firm, and stay for a few months, you can probably jump to somewhere better after.

Currently holding offers from both NUS and Cambridge law, but not quite sure on what to choose. Not too keen on going overseas, but Cambridge will likely present better (?) career options. Is the career progression significantly better for Cambridge graduates to justify a move overseas?

NUS is hands down the best. Support our prestigious local U. Top law school in Asia. Suggest you reject your Cambridge offer now. With a degree from Singapore's flagship U to your name, you will cement on your career prospects and dedication to the Singapore education system. This will stand you in very good stead for a shot at the top offices of the land, maybe even Chief Justice or President of the Republic of Singapore or Minister for Law!

Depends on what you want and how ambitious you are. Cambridge sounds nicer to most int firms, but it's also harder to come back to SG to work, especially with Part A etc. If you want to apply directly to UK MC firms, and never come back to SG, or come back after 10 years as a foreign assoc, go ahead and choose Cambridge. If you prefer to work in SG, and don't want to go through the pain of Part A, take NUS.

I do personally know of quite a handful of Cambridge students who unfortunately failed the Part A exams before. So this might be a factor you would wish to consider.
