LMAO you're the troll. Stop using strawmen arguments. Nobody said law salaries are high but you're peddling a falsehood.
I know of literally nobody at 6PQE who is earning $4.2K unless you're talking about part-time locum arrangements. I know a maternity cover lawyer who earned $5k pm, but that person was literally working half-days for 4 days a week, so 20 hours a week.
As I said before, and I'll say again: if you want a realistic perspective on what is the usual salary progression for a non-big 4 law firm, just take the Big 4 scale and less off 20-25% and you'll be in a more or less accurate range.

Agree on this and I know of several law guys earning $5-6k per month in big 4 with 4-5PQE, so the earlier poster is definitely a troll. Thanks for filtering whats untrue in the thread!

If there are people who are earning S$5-6k at 4-5PQE in local Big 4 law firm, they're being grossly underpaid. 3PQE associates at the Big 4 law firms are earning ballpark S$8k monthly (or at least S$7.5k).

I think a 4-5 PQE ten to twenty years ago earned $5-6k too... Meanwhile HDB prices continue to rise

routine work over dealing with toxic firm culture
in-house colleagues just want to do their work and eff off after 6pm swee
last time in pvt practice wanna leave at 7:30pm also cannot, you’d be deemed not a “team player”, never stay late and “help” fellow assocs. cannot be seen enjoying life.9
