1. B4 paycut is a lie.

2. Blackoak does R&I, Whitefern does insurance litigation. Blackoak only takes FCH.

3. TSMP takes UK high 2.1s outside of London, but you must fit into the firm's culture.

4. LVM does construction arbitration. Entry reqs I'm not sure

I must caveat that I'm not actually sure about the above. It's only based on what I've heard, which may not be true. If so, someone point that out / confirm please. Also, LVM also does IA i believe, but both domestic and international, and disputes work

Some firms have recruiting bonuses given to lawyers whose recommendations get hired (and stay for a while). So they'd be a lot more keen than you'd think to pass on your CV.

Culture/fit/learning style very important. Also, the type of work they get.

The kind of work the firm gets is the kind of thing that the new hire will be cutting his teeth on. If you're offered a big firm position but it comes with huge amounts of bulk work with little prospect to level up your skills over time, you may want to consider a smaller firm that lets you learn what you need in order to transit to where you really want to go.

TSMP really loves its own culture. If you can convince them that you love it too (and that they love you loving it), you have one foot through the door.

Just try to do your best chad/dudebro impression at the interview. Pretend you're some preppy angmo from a fraternity.

Source: I was offered a place at TSMP after the interview.

There have been many, many posts discussing NQ salaries, and there's some good information in this thread about salaries for up to 5 PQE.

Is anyone able and willing to share the scoop on 6-12PQE salaries? This is the range for salaried partners at most mid and big firms.

I'm interested in info for both the big and mid sized firms.

I'm aware that the base salaries for big 4 firm junior partners at around 6 PQE start from around $12,500 (excluding bonuses). How does that scale up over time? (I'm aware that two of the big 4 firms no longer promote to JP at 6 PQE)

How is the junior/salaried partner's bonus component calculated (I expect that this is based on billings / collections?), and what is the typical range?

Thanks!
