I think it is a vicious cycle. The partner scolds the junior, the junior scold the trainee. When trainee becomes partner, he scolds the junior again, as he/she was treated that way in the past.

The only good thing about being a lawyer is looking down on everyone else.

How is Lee&Lee, TSMP like?

Hello all,

I'm hoping to get some advice if possible.

I was accepted into the SMU JD program, I applied on a whim without thinking I'd get in. I am very conflicted on whether to accept or not since I don't really know if this will open doors for me in future.

I don't plan to practice law, nor do I envision living in Singapore long term.

I would, however, like to go into arbitration or legal consultancy (either in Singapore or abroad).

Am I just being incredibly silly wasting 3 years doing a JD or do you think it will be a good foundation for going into arbitration or legal consultancy?

Any viewpoints will be helpful
