Well said, fully agreed.

The kids from NUS and SMU lapping up every morsel spewing out from the state-owned media about the local universities being top in Asia )

I laugh out loud whenever they say they are better than Yale or even Warwick for the matter.

Little wonder you studied Law in NUS/SMU. You have absolutely zero idea of basic statistics and probabilities.

Absolute numbers are meaningless. 80 out of a thousand applicants is statistically low relative to 2 out of 5 applicants. The competition and calibre of people applying for CC London far exceeds the guys applying for CC Singapore.

Didn't law teach you to be more careful about words and not to spew **** about things you have no idea about? No idea why this joker is trying to big up everything in Singapore (law schools and firms lol frog in the well)

Aiyah you overseas grads don’t talk like you guys are so good lah

If so good, won’t need to go overseas and do law

You guys went overseas for the only simple reason: born into a rich family.

PERIOD.

and what of it? family wealth buys an education far superior to that which you obtained solely on merit

such is life

nothing wrong with being proud of coming from nus/smu or doing well at school, look at how the straits times celebrates the top n level grads annually and take your cue from there accordingly

if local unis are so good, why don’t our natural aristocrats send their kids there or gov scholars go there? end of story.

They don't exactly send them to warwick, bristol, etc. They go to Oxbridge. How is this even a discussion.

oxbridge masters in law not all of equal standing.

cambridge llm worth less than the oxford bcl. if you have a bcl you are guaranteed both tc and retention, hell even barrister pupillage. all doors opened confirm plus chop.

but not easy to get in and not easy to pass. bcl deserves its elite reputation. better if you did ba juris at oxford to begin with, the unique pedagogy and expectations should be second nature by then.

Ironic that their prospects in London are so much better than yours then.
