I only have a few banker friends maybe earnings that amount. maybe property agent or insurance agent. ok generally all sales staff, yes earning that amount for these fields are more possible, but how many of us are doing sales?
I am early 30s and I am about 100k and to be honest I feel I am a bit over paid already as compare to my other friends who are maybe still 60k range.

Everyone around here keep saying sales in banking or property is the way to make big money. Maybe its just me, from my exp the sales people I know are just making ordinary wages. My own sister is a RM in Citigold and she's only getting 110k+ all in and she's already 39 this year.

I've always wondered how much those working at Citigold are making. Thank you for stating it explicity and clearly.

The top RMs will always earn more than the average. 350k sounds correct.

Out of curiosity, I asked my sis again on details over weekend dinner. She is actually working on Citigold Private accounts which I understand is a higher tier than Citigold but still not considered private banking.
She told me 110k+ was last year and she is expecting generally lower variable bonus this year, would be lucky to hit above 100k. She also told me as far as she is aware, RMs at this tier even in a good year can only hit 250k and 350k is virtually unheard of. Perhaps private or investment banking, but she seems quite confident it cannot be done in Citigold Private or any tier below that. In fact she used to handle normal consumer banking in SCB and told me 50-70k is the norm at that level.
And it's not just my sis, I have a few friends in the banking sales sector and AFAIK none of them are making that sort of numbers that people keep throwing around here. So my advice for the newbie is be careful and don't trust everything that is shared here.

when people say "banking" they mean investment banking, FO roles.
Yes, top sales earn a lot in commissions but it is only the top few.

Lol. Typical civil servant, always thinking that they are capable enough to get into the top management positions in the pte sector. In reality most MNCs second FTs from HQ to take up the high paying C-level positions. Even the middle-top management roles are farmed out to lesser FTs.
My advice... be thankful for your cushy, high paying CS job. Doubt you are capable enough to break into top management of an MNC.
