U referring to just started work as an associate with this UK insurance firm drawing 4.9k as a fresh grad or previously you already got experience as an underwriter b4 joining this UK insurance firm drawing 4.9k. Do let us know yr number of years of exp coz wait a lot of bright eye graduates think joining as underwriter first yr got 4.9k already. Thanks
This kind of statement always very misleading

AVP in a small offshore branch. Credit analyst with 10 years experience. $7.6k per month, bonus 2 months. 9-6 job, seldom OT.
Seems low compared to those with 4-5 years experience and drawing 10k+ but to me is decent enough for a comfortable lifestyle.

Depends on what sort of underwriter. Those admin process kind got 3k already very heng, those require actuary or higher statistics kind quite common to get 5k starting grad

Which bank is this for pls?
Been working at large banks for years and quite burnt out. Looking for smaller companies with work life balance but they don't seem to advertise much on job portals..

yup, all the large banks always have damm heavy work loads and easy to get burnt out. I am now already mid 30s, want more work life balance, spend more time with kids and enjoy life. Don't want to OT like crazy like when i began working in the big banks.
I am currently in a Korean bank keke there are about a handful here. Actually it should be quite easy to find smaller banks in SG cos there are sooooOoo many of em. If you check MAS directory there are like almost 200 banks operating in SG. Some of the other smaller ones with good work life balance include middle eastern banks (arab bank, first gulf, emirates, Qatar national etc), Aussie (westpac, nab), Japanese trust banks (Mitsubishi Trust, Sumitomo Trust Bank) etc. RHB also had good work life balance and I heard Maybank also.
Even the 3 big jap banks can have good work life if you are in the right department.
