U know what is bonus anot? Fyi, fresh grad are alr getting close to 5k in the govtech tap program. That's alr 80k p.a. including bonus. And tap is not the onli special scheme out there that's hiring data scientist and paying this type of pay

As for 50k all-in package I already told you that's the norm. Pay isn't just about certs, the big factor is state of economy. In a poor job market like now where private unis are getting contract jobs at 2.5k+ a month and many local uni grads in pte sector getting 3k perm packages, how much leverage does a LSE grad actually have?
I think 50k package is on the low side for your cert, but it is not so low until totally unreasonable. If you were to go for typical MO type of analyst job in the banks they would probably pay 3.8-4k w/o AWS and 1-2 mths bonus which will pitch you closer to 55k range.
Of course you can say IB or trading house make a lot more, but in this environment where FO jobs shrinking, headcount freeze and many experienced retrenchees looking around, it will be a very tough sell even for a LSE grad.
How long have you been sending CVs before you got this offer?
|
lol...not prestigious? probably half the overseas scholars in civil service are from LSE

You know what is Maths or not? 115k is 7k PM if you include a 4 month bonus. If you think you're going to get 40% increment in 1.5 years in civil service, i have news for you. I'm not even going to argue with the ridiculousness of the suggestion that you'll earn 115k 1.5 years in. If you truly believe that, you're not analytical enough to be working in this field to begin. with.

I was obviously referring to the 115k claim with 1.7 years experience. I rounded it down because the 2 months makes no difference to the pay. But I can round it up to two years for you if you want.
Now let's break down the 88k pa claim. 88k with a average of 2.5 month bonus which is the normal for SB and CS would break down to 6k monthly. If you hope to go from near 5k to 6k in 1.5 years in a stat board program, then again I have news for you.

It is very common to see certain engineering and data opening in CS/SB hitting above 100k inc bonus within 2-3 years. Some people really frog in the well here.
