According to him, it is not really a program but more like odd job labourers that will be thrown around depending on which dept put up a 'chope' request. HR try to advertise by saying is job rotation, but the real reason is due to budget constraint a lot of dept dont have enough money for a perm position
They are pooling together a flexible workforce that can be deployed for few weeks to few months in various depts and branches to help out in sai gang.

convenient to share the dept? not so bad if the saikang translates to learning opportunities and helps in promotion given the extra exp in diff depts

There is a big difference between having job rotation as part of your development program and getting deployed on short stints in random places doing temp paperwork.
Without any proper boss or dept head, all you will learn is basic level admin rubbish in multiple departments without actually doing anything useful. Think about it, if any dept has a good project and a pile of rubbish work, you think the boss will give which 1 to the his kakia perm staff and which 1 to some 3 month temp worker he dun even know and will be going off soon?
To me this whole program is nothing more than just "permanent" temp contractors like those you get from Kelly, Adecco, Recruit Express etc. The fact that they are opening the to the massess without any experience or specific educational requirement is clear evidence they are just grabbing warm bodies.

are u part of ocbc or it's just ur opinion based on what you read?
you may be true for most part, but the rotation is only for 1st year. after that you're attached to a dept permanently. maybe it's true you're just thrown ard for the 1st year, but isnt it good to gain knowledge and experience in the different depts even tho doing sh!t work if you're a fresh grad with nil exp?

if u really want to go work in a bank without any experience and low pay with uncertain job prospects, this programme is the one for u.
if you really want to work in other banks and you think you can offer some skills, go ahead and apply directly with banks and bank recruiters. some positions accept fresh grads with perm positions, but without the rotation thinggy. i got in by this route and i'm glad i did, 'cause my department was considered the best dept of all back offices. luckily i wasn't in settlements or credit dept, their workload is really crazy and OT most of the time.
